JLJF Appearances

JLJF 2019

Over the past 6 years Dusty Green Bones Band has covered a lot of ground. From Jackson Hole to San Diego this hard driving 5 – piece, consisting of guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass and drums, has helped spawn dance parties across the country. The music hard to describe, draws on influences from across the globe. Bluegrass, Latin, Jam-rock, eastern European, and other influences creep in and out at any particular show (not necessarily in that order). Creating a musical tapestry that flows seamlessly together. Formed in San Francisco in 2015, coming from different musical and cultural backgrounds the quintet noticed a chemistry and synergy often hard to find amongst musicians. They started playing shows and recording right away. Hitting the road shortly thereafter in a van named the White Frieghtliner. After a couple of years with the band gaining momentum and miles they got a bus named Krystal and traveled in that for a while until she broke down beyond repair. These days they just rent a van.

In 2019 the band celebrated the release of their 3rd studio project, Moonlight on the Mountains, recorded at Prairie Sun in Cotati CA. An EP consisting of 5 original songs and tunes. The same year headlined a show in Denver, featuring a hero of the band Tyler Grant. As well had bluegrass guitar superstar Billy Strings sit-in at a sold out show in Tahoe.

The two other studio releases the Constant Gardner (2017) a full length album and a self titled EP (2015) can be found on all major streaming platforms. With numerous festival bookings and a growing fan-base DGB are optimistic about the future. 2020 already includes bookings at String Cheese Incidents – Hog Farm Hangout in Norcal, competing in the Telluride Bluegrass Fest band Competition, Salmonfest in Alaska and more.

Keep an ear for these boys at a town near you!
